Out of soul with a banana as big as a biceps

This banana variety has a body more than 20 meters high, the fruit is up to 30cm long and is a famous specialty in the country of Papua New Guinea.

Banana is a fruit that is not too strange to everyone. Currently, there are many different types of bananas, but the giant banana variety is in the country of Papua New Guinea (a country located near the equator to the southeast of Asia).

This giant banana variety, called Musa Ingens, grows only in the tropical highlands of Papua New Guinea. Although many countries want to grow this type of banana, due to unsuitable soil conditions, the banana is not as big as expected. Only this Pacific island nation has the conditions for Musa Ingens bananas to grow.

The average height of Musa Ingens bananas is from 20-25 meters, equivalent to a 6-storey building, 5 times taller than ordinary bananas. The entire trunk is wrapped in a very tight overlapping shell, which is so large that even an adult cannot hug it all.

As the largest banana tree in the world, their fruit cannot be reduced. Musa Ingens bananas are very large, about the size of an adult’s arm, up to 30cm long, weighing an average of 1.5-3kg. In terms of color and taste, it’s not much different from regular bananas, it’s just different in size and weight. One Musa Ingens banana can take about 4 people to eat.

The Musa Ingens banana is the most important fruit in Papua New Guinea. In addition to eating them directly, people also process them into bananas or dried bananas. Banana flesh is used directly as a snack, bananas are the main food source of local people. Banana peel is also used to feed pigs, banana flower is considered a vegetable and banana stem can be used as a bag or cloth.

So it can be said that the Musa Ingens banana is a treasure for the people of Papua New Guinea.
