The Zundert Flower Parade is held annually in Zundert, the Netherlands – the hometown of famous painter Vicent Van Gogh on the first Sunday of September. First held in 1936, every year The parade will include about 20 statues made entirely of flowers, inspired by artist Vincent Van Gogh.
As the world’s largest flower parade, the Zundert Flower Parade is run entirely by volunteers, and uses only dahlias. Flowers for the parade will be planted throughout the summer throughout the surrounding areas of Zundert. Dahlia flowers last a long time, so people will use them to make giant statues a week before the parade. This year, there are 19 teams participating in the parade.
